During the holiday season everything is circled around traditions and old memories. Traditions for gathering families together and memories with simple food, lots of love and a slice of bread…
In Russia and Bulgaria there is a simple tradition with raising children – the elders always help and of course, I was no exception to the rule and grew with the help of my russian grandma. I was too little to remember the period, but I’ve heard lots of stories about it. And believe it or not, but most of them were about a simple crust of bread. I used to love it and my grandma knowing it always kept a small crust in her pocket to silent me. Easy and effective. Yesterday I decided to pay a tribute to the grandparents that raised us with this simple rustic bread spread. It’s not only delicious and easy to make, you can also combine it with any meal or a salad and wake up the memories. For your childhood, your grandparents and the love they gave you…
rustic bread spread
- use any bread you have, I used my french baguettes
- add 1 sun-dried tomato
- olive oil
- dried herbs
1. Cut the sun-dried tomatoes to small bites.
2. Cover with delicious extra-virgin olive oil.
3. Leave them to absorb the flavors at least for 30 minutes.
4. Spread on the bread and add some dried herbs.
